Drakonid Homeland

This is for an animation project I had to do for school. Basically the assignment was to create a background cycle animation with 2 cycle animations going on at the same time and 2 overlays, and compose it in aftereffects so that you get a feel that you're going through a 3D scene.

I like how it turned out, despite a few flaws here and there.

If you're wondering about the title, the scene is supposed to be from a story idea of mine called Yorin. The story behind the actual location depicted is that the place was the ancient home of the Drakonids, a race of dragons. They're long gone now, though. They were all annihilated by humans. A thousand years later, humans develop technology that allows for airships, and they're scouring the location for an ancient relic that governs the force of runes, a magical element to the story. I'll be doing a lot more concept stuff for this story from now on, so you'll probably get to see a lot of it here.
