This summer has been one big disappointment so far. I had so much hope at the end of school... so much planned. This was going to be the Summer of Eddie. Then things went horribly wrong. The past 2 months were spent moping and slacking. I was so unmotivated.
Thankfully things are starting to pick up pace now. I think it's mainly due to two things I picked up last week: the Angel series DVDs and Ace Combat 5.
I wasn't much of a fan of Buffy... I used to watch it on and off back in the day, but I stopped dead eventually. Then I started watching Angel last summer 'cause it was the only thing worth watching at 4am during the summer, and despite having caught it in the middle of the series and not really having the background knowledge on Buffy, I really liked the show. The writing is humorous and entertaining, and the drama is top notch. So I'm glad I'm able to start watching the whole thing from the beginning and in sequence now. Especially considering I only paid a quarter of what each season would be worth.
Ace Combat is mad fun. Didn't know a combat flight sim could be so interseting. Not that I didn't like flight sims before, I used to spend hours on MS Flight Sim back in the day... But Ace Combat is fun because of its awesome campaign mode. The missions and the story that unfolds as you progress through the game is just so gripping. Everytime I finish one mission, I have to play the next to find out more.
So these two things have lead me to have a creative spurt, and the past couple of days I was more writing scripts and backstory material than I have in the past few months. All in all, I feel pretty good about that. Now I gotta kick up the visual side of things and maybe I'll be able to swing into full time comic mode.
Now if only this job thing was out of the way. Siigh, gonna be a long summer.

Anime North is over already. It was a good note to end a rather depressing and shitty month for me. Didn't sell as much as I hoped I would, but that's more my fault for not being prepared. It was great just to hang out with everyone again, though.

Yay, I'm in Korea atm. Staying here for a month. Having lived in Toronto for most of my life, I must say it's quite a change of pace here. Almost everywhere you look there's interesting scenary, unlike boring old Toronto
